You will manage discrete project work streams under the direction of the Policy Manager ensuring that the projects deliver their required outcomes, meet their milestones and achieve their deadlines within budget.
You will develop and implement project plans where required, and to monitor and track progress.
You will support the Policy Manager through undertaking research and compiling briefings and reports.
You will work with the Policy Manager to monitor, evaluate and respond to designated policy issues and Government consultations.
You will support FFT’s secretariat role to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Gypsies, Roma and Travellers, by assisting in drafting parliamentary questions and correspondence, and undertaking related administrative tasks.
You will support the organisations work to ensure the issues experienced by Gypsy and Traveller communities are addressed by human rights monitoring bodies such as the UN’s committees.
You will gather data and information for preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports to funders.
You will provide the necessary administrative support to the policy work and projects.
You will undertake other such duties as are reasonably appropriate to the job.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Good organisational skills
Confident in Microsoft Office
Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail
Experience in conducting research and report writing
Desirable:
Experience in a policy role
Proven project management skills
Experience of managing large sets of data
Knowledge and understanding of the different Gypsy and Traveller communities within the UK and of the issues that affect the lives of Gypsies and Travellers.
