The role will involve working across the neighbourhood, with patients, patient groups, community groups, in whatever are the most effective ways to help people in taking up NHS health support and services

East and Central Brighton PCN consists of 9 GP surgeries generally covering the Whitehawk, Queens Park, Kemptown, Hanover, Lewes and London Road areas of Brighton.

Patient Engagement Workers will be responsible for the project management of a distinct set of initiatives designed to early identify possible clinical conditions and risks, to improve the health and wellbeing, and hence the life chances, of East and Central Brighton residents. This incorporates a number of different public health priorities: vaccination; early diagnosis of bowel, breast and cervical cancer; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; diabetes; health checks.

They will be comfortable working with people from different backgrounds and in varied situations and contexts.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary, good terms and conditions, access to the NHS pension scheme, a positive and flexible working culture, excellent support from PCN and Arch management and the opportunity to influence and improve health services for some of the most vulnerable people in our city.

This is a new project and employment roles may be continued after a year if the project is a success.
