Information and Support Assistant

Hours: 37 hours a week

Salary: £19,000 per annum FTE

Location: Littlehampton or Horsham or another AUKWSBH location (with travel to other sites)

We are currently looking for an Information and Support Assistant to join our dedicated team on a full-time, permanent contract.

The Role

As an Information and Support Assistant, you will join our First Point of Contact (FPOC) Team and provide support, advice and guidance to older people, their families and carers.

Reporting to the First Point of Contact Co-ordinator, you will provide a wide range of information to our service users, enabling them to make informed choices and signposting them to the most relevant service, tradesperson or organisation.

You will carry out administrative tasks to support the service including keeping accurate records on our database of all enquiries received and how they were resolved. In addition, you will assist with the recruitment and training of volunteers for this service.

About You

To join us as an Information and Support Assistant, you will need:

- Experience of working in a call-centre or similar environment

- An understanding of, and interest in, older people, their situations and the opportunities they may want and/or need

- A commitment to high levels of customer service

- Highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills

- The ability to work as part of a team including supporting volunteers

- Excellent IT and computer skills including email, Excel, Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams

- A commitment to equality and inclusivity across all aspects of the role

- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within the role

Experience of working or volunteering with older people would be beneficial, as would knowledge of the local community, third sector and any other groups or organisations working with older people. Experience of motivational interviewing would also be advantageous.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend working will be required. The location for this role is flexible for the right candidate, however, regular travel will be required across our sites.
