This is an exciting opportunity to work for a charity that is passionate about giving young adults the chance to develop their skills and confidence, both for their own benefit and for that of society as a whole.
The primary role of the ESTEEM Cook will be planning and cooking meals for regular weekly Youth ‘Drop-ins’ on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Meals need to be ready by 6pm but the food can be prepared earlier so that others can heat up in time. This will involve creating appetising and healthy meals using items donated from Fairshare as well as using an agreed budget to purchase any further ingredients.
You will be responsible for:
● creating meal plans, shopping for ingredients and preparing meals for an average of 15-20 people on a Monday and Wednesday evening
● you will be required to help organise our weekly food donations, keeping clean and tidy the fridge and storage areas
● You may be asked to share cooking experience with one or two young people to support them in learning or developing cooking skills and confidence in the kitchen. This is a great chance to have a rewarding role within the community and exchange knowledge and skills with young adults.
