Employment Advisor – Fixed term until 31st March 2025 (with possible funding extension) at Mind Brighton And Hove

We are seeking to recruit an additional Employment Advisor to join our well established and supportive team, providing advice and information, skills-based interventions, and employment support to people experiencing mental health issues.

Mind in Brighton and Hove empowers and supports people who have lived experience of mental health issues in Brighton and Hove, East and West Sussex.

We are seeking to recruit an additional Employment Advisor to join our well established and supportive team, providing advice and information, skills-based interventions, and employment support to people experiencing mental health issues. As an Employment Advisor your role will involve working alongside people 1 to 1 to help them achieve their employment goals whether that is to remain in, return to or find work.

The role is varied and involves managing a busy caseload as well as undertaking liaison work with employers and other external partners, so experience and a commitment to partnership working is required. The service also offers workplace wellbeing and recruitment focused workshops offering a chance for people to meet together creatively and share experiences. If you are you interested in making a positive impact then this could be the role for you.

The successful candidate will understand mental health, employment issues and the barriers people may face in the workplace. Skills in providing advice and information, being able to problem solve creatively and a track record of successfully engaging and working with people experiencing mental health issues are essential. National vocational based training will be available as part of the role.

The Employment Advice Service provides employment support for people accessing NHS Talking Therapies via the Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service. The Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service www.brightonandhovewellbeing.org is a primary care mental health service for people of all ages in the city.

The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
